Class of 2025 ready for the future
With cheers, tears, and high hopes for what's ahead, the 4,175 members of the Cherry Creek Schools’ Class of 2025 celebrated the milestone of high school graduation this week during commencement ceremonies held the week of May 19 at the Stutler Bowl and both Hamilton Gym and the Ritchie Center at the University of Denver.
“Seniors, you have worked toward this moment, but it is just that, a moment,” Grandview High School Principal Dr. Lisa Roberts said to the school’s 668 graduates during the GHS Commencement Ceremony. “Graduating high school is a most important distinction, but it does not define you. Instead, you'll be defined by how you live your life; the choices you make, the goals you set, and how you endeavor to achieve them - how you become the best version of yourself."
The Class of 2025 is a diverse and accomplished group. It includes:
· 4 Boettcher Scholar Recipients, 10 Finalists
· 13 Daniels Fund Recipients
· 12 Military Academy Appointees
· 37 National Merit Finalists
· 43 National Merit Semi-Finalists
· 770 AP Scholars
· 3 QuestBridge Scholars
2025 graduates have earned more than $38 million in scholarships and will attend a wide variety of colleges and universities across the county. A dozen will attend military academies, while others will immediately begin serving in the Armed Forces. Some graduates will go directly into the work force to use the real-world experiences and industry certifications they earned in Career & Technical Education programs at their home high schools or the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus.
However, the Class of 2025 is much more than its academic achievements. Students gave back to their schools and communities by volunteering thousands of hours and raising thousands of dollars for worthwhile causes.
“You're basically superheroes! So go out there, use your power for good. Be the kind of leader, the kind of friend, the kind of human being who makes things better,” said Eaglecrest High School Principal Gwen Hansen Vigil to the 760 Raptors who graduated this week.
During their commencement ceremonies, students thanked their parents, teachers, and others who have supported them along the way. They shared beautiful musical performances and heartfelt advice with their classmates.
“Don’t let the opinion of others define who you are,” urged Dariana Williams, Endeavor Academy’s Class of 2025 Student Speaker.
Congratulations to the Class of 2025!
