CCSD Volunteer Confidentiality and Conduct Agreement
Thank you for choosing to serve as a CCSD volunteer. We appreciate your commitment to supporting our staff, students, and positive learning environment. This agreement must be signed annually before volunteering in any CCSD school or facility.
1. Confidentiality of Student Information
As a volunteer, you may have access to confidential student education records, including but not limited to grades, discipline information, IEPs, and 504 plans. This information is protected by FERPA, applicable Colorado law, and CCSD Board Policy JRCB. You agree to:
- Not share, discuss, or disclose student information with any person not authorized to receive it, including other parents or community members
- Discuss student concerns only with CCSD staff in a private setting
- Not retain, copy, photograph, or remove any student records or personally identifiable student information
- Protect the confidentiality of student information after your volunteer service ends
2. Conduct Standards
You agree to:
- Maintain appropriate, professional boundaries with all students at all times and treat all students with dignity and respect, consistent with Board Policy AC (Nondiscrimination)
- Not be alone with a student in an unsupervised setting unless authorized by a CCSD employee
- Not communicate with students through personal devices, personal email, or personal social media accounts
- Not photograph, video record, or audio record students without prior written authorization from CCSD administration
- Not transport students in a personal vehicle without prior written authorization from CCSD administration
- Follow all Board policies related to student interactions, including Board Policy GBEB (Staff Conduct) and Board Policies KI and KI-R (Visitors to District Facilities)
3. Hold Harmless
To the extent permitted by law, you agree to hold harmless and indemnify Cherry Creek School District for any claims, damages, or costs arising from your willful, wanton, or reckless conduct during your volunteer service.
4. Consequences for Violation
Failure to comply with any provision of this agreement or applicable Board policy may result in immediate disqualification from serving as a CCSD volunteer, referral to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities, and civil or criminal liability.
Acknowledgment
By signing the agreement, I confirm that I have read, understand, and agree to comply with all provisions of this agreement. I understand this agreement is renewed annually and must be signed before each volunteer year.
