The Cherry Creek School District is committed to honoring our heroes, the active service members and veterans who've sacrificed to ensure our freedom, our happiness and our safety. Our schools have put together breakfasts, parades, concerts and more -- see the list below to find a school near you! Please note that some schools require an RSVP.


Altitude Elementary

Altitude Elementary is proud to host a patriotic Veterans Day Parade to honor America's heroes! The parade Grand Marshall is WWII veteran Eugene Meyer – Private First Class, US Army Air Corps, who will be celebrating his 97th birthday that day! The parade will also feature students, community members, a Statue of Liberty balloon, and more!

Aspen Crossing Elementary

The students at Aspen Crossing will be visiting several stations to learn about our veterans and active military members. They will see a model tank display, learn about the quilt of valor and listen to a panel of our community heroes. Honored guests are invited to join us and visit these stations, enjoy refreshments in our Hospitality Room, and join us for a parade in their honor. The parade line-up begins at 12:30. The parade will step off at 1 p.m. and end with a short ceremony at Sky Vista Middle School from 1:30-2:15 p.m.

Belleview Elementary

10 a.m.

Belleview invites veterans, active military members, and their families to join us in our library for light refreshments. During this time, one student from each grade level will read their winning essay from the "What Freedom Means To Me" contest. Additionally, our guests will be invited to visit classrooms of their relatives for special time with their loved ones.

Black Forest Hills Elementary

Our students will decorate the bulletin boards in our hallways and create cards to hand out to our guests. We will have an indoor parade to honor our heroes, who will then go into our library for a reception featuring student speakers. Honored guests are also invited to visit classrooms and talk with students.

Buffalo Trail Elementary

Thursday, Nov. 9
9:15 a.m.

Buffalo Trail, Pine Ridge, and Infinity will host a breakfast for veterans, active military members, and their families at 9:15 a.m. at Infinity Middle School. It will feature performances by the Buffalo Trail and Pine Ridge choirs, and the Infinity choirs and bands. At 10:15 a.m., a parade will start at Infinity and go to Buffalo Trail and then to Pine Ridge. Students and staff from all schools will be along the route to cheer for our honored guests who will be riding in their vehicles.

Cottonwood Creek Elementary

Veterans, active military members, and their families will enjoy breakfast in our Innovation space, before a student assembly featuring a video presented by a former CCSD student depicting life as a CCSD student and as a military member. Grade levels are partnering up (K-1, 2-3 and 4-5) to sing patriotic songs. Students will present readings honoring military men and women. Finally, 3-5 graders will line the halls of the school and have a clap out for all of our honored guests.

Veterans, active military members, and their families will be honored during a Veterans Day assembly where every grade level will sing a song and a 20' flag made by students will be displayed. Honored guests will receive a special gift and have the opportunity to tour the school to see artwork created in their honor and visit classrooms to share stories of their service.

Holly Ridge Primary/Holly Hills Elementary

The Hollys will celebrate Veterans Week with a parade from Holly Ridge to Holly Hills, followed by an assembly for veterans, military members and their families. The assembly will feature the Hollys cheer squad and pep team, as well as a patriotic choir performance by our 4th grade students. Honored guests can view artwork and a "Wall of Honor" with photos and information about local heroes. The school is also scheduling visits with veterans from American Legion Post 1.
