The Cherry Creek School District is committed to honoring our heroes, the active service members and veterans who've sacrificed to ensure our freedom, our happiness and our safety. Our schools have put together breakfasts, parades, concerts and more -- see the list below to find a school near you! Please note that some schools require an RSVP.
Elementary Schools

Altitude Elementary
- Nov. 6

- Altitude Elementary is proud to hold its annual Veterans Day Parade, featuring all Altitude students, clubs and activities from Fox Ridge Middle School and Cherokee Trail High School, units from Buckley Space Force Base, the Aurora Police and Fire departments, classic cars, horses, floats, and other surprises! The half-mile route goes through the Southshore community, specifically E. Southshore Dr. where the main viewing gallery is located.
A hospitality room is also available from 11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. for veterans, active duty, and first responders to show our appreciation for their sacrifices. - No RSVP required
Antelope Ridge Elementary

- Antelope Ridge students and staff will honor America's heroes with a Veterans Day breakfast in their honor, followed by a patriotic parade through the school to thank veterans, military members, and their families for their service and sacrifice! Students are welcome to take their veteran (family member) to be a guest in their classroom.

Arrowhead Elementary

- Arrowhead will honor those who served with a breakfast reception, a parade through our hallways, and a school assembly with performances from each grade level.

Aspen Crossing Elementary
- Nov. 13
- 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
- Aspen Crossing will host a variety of stations for students to visit in the morning including a model tank display, a quilting display, a military panel and a mini exercise (boot camp). Our student leadership offers a hospitality room for our veterans/military members to visit. At 12:30, we begin setting up for a parade to Sky Vista. 1:00 - 2:00 pm, students parade with Sky Vista MS and the Eaglecrest HS band to Sky Vista. There is a brief ceremony at Sky Vista MS honoring our community military members. Students in grades 3 - 5 walk back to Aspen Crossing.

Belleview Elementary
- Nov. 13
- 8:25 a.m. - 9:25 a.m.
- Veterans, military members, and their families will be honored during a patriotic assembly featuring student musical performances and essay readings, followed by a Heroes Reception in the Library.
- Veterans are invited to Belleview for a continental breakfast in the library, followed by a whole school assembly. The assembly will include the national anthem sung by two of our students, and songs and essay readings by students in all grade levels. The assembly will conclude with having the veterans stand and be honored by students and staff.

Black Forest Elementary

- Veterans and their students will enjoy coffee, juice, and donuts followed by a performance by the Buffalo Trail Choir and an Honor Walk. Our special guests are then invited to join students for a Veterans Day craft project.

- Veterans are invited to join us for for a parade through our hallways, followed by a Veterans Day assembly that includes a Color Guard, songs from the choir, and an introduction and celebration of our Veterans.

- The Challenge School will honor veterans, military members, and their families during a Veterans Day breakfast and celebration featuring an opening ceremony by Challenge Girl Scouts and student performances of patriotic songs, stories, and essays. Guests will visit classrooms, and participate in a “Heroes Tribute” as they walk through the hallways.

Indian Ridge Elementary

- Veterans Parade includes Indian Ridge Elementary (INR), Laredo Middle School (LMS), and Smoky Hill High School (SHHS) beginning at 1:00 p.m.. Parade will include students and staff from INR and LMS and members of the SHHS marching band, poms and cheerleaders, as well as members of the first responders in the LMS, INR and SHHS community. The parade will end at the SHHS track/field with an assembly to honor Veterans and first responders in the community and CCSD District, with speeches by Principals and students. The event will conclude with a short reception in the LMS cafeteria for Veterans and their families.

Pine Ridge Elementary

- Pine Ridge parents and families with veterans are invited to join us for an assembly at 8:30 AM. The assembly will have presentation of the flags by the joint forces color guard. We will have a guest speaker and student guest speakers with the PRE choir performing the National Anthem, Eleven Eleven, Thank a Vet, and A Tribute to the Armed Forces. Immediately following the assembly, Pine Ridge students will line the hallways where art will be displayed representing each branch of the military. Veterans and their families will participate in a walking parade through the hall. Following the parade Veterans and their families can join us for a cookie reception.

- Veterans Parade includes Indian Ridge Elementary (INR), Laredo Middle School (LMS), and Smoky Hill High School (SHHS) beginning at 1:00 p.m.. Parade will include students and staff from INR and LMS and members of the SHHS marching band, poms and cheerleaders, as well as members of the first responders in the LMS, INR and SHHS community. The parade will end at the SHHS track/field with an assembly to honor Veterans and first responders in the community and CCSD District, with speeches by Principals and students. The event will conclude with a short reception in the LMS cafeteria for Veterans and their families.

Fremont Learning Center
- The CCSD schools and programs located at the Fremont Learning Center will partner to host a Veterans Day breakfast for veteran employees, support staff, student families, and active military members. In addition, Elevation and Link students are writing cards for veterans and the Elevation Honor Society, in partnership with the other programs, is leading a coat drive during the month of November to benefit veterans.
The Fremont Learning Center houses the following CCSD schools and programs:
- Cherry Creek Elevation (a blended online middle and high school)
- Cherry Creek Options (K-12 homeschool enrichment program)
- Cherry Creek Link (a short-term, blended learning environment for 6-12 students to build skills needed to re-engage with their home school)
- Transition Program (optional program for young adults with special needs who are 18-21 years of age)
