From author Heather Greenwood Davis, "Every time you share your story, it is a reminder that you have lived it, and it has value." It is important that our children see themselves as learners, thinkers, activists, and leaders, so we make it our mission to "Share your story, power your potential".
We are a Title I funded school with approximately 70% of our students qualifying for Free/Reduced Lunch. With our Title I funds, we are able to support extra staffing to support the many needs of our community of learners. We spend our funds on reading intervention from highly skilled teachers, we employ a dedicated family liaison to connect resources from our community to our families, we include paraprofessional hours to support learning in our classrooms, and we ensure we have an instructional coach to help each of our teachers be prepared for the rigors of the classroom.
Over the past two years, we have had to pivot from regular school to teaching during a pandemic. As we enter the 2022-23 school year, we are shifting our focus to high quality and differentiated instruction to meet the needs of our various learners. We are a 1:1 school with technology. Our students have access to 21st century learning in and outside of their classrooms. See a list below of resources we use to teach to Colorado Academic Standards.
