The Office of Legal Resources provides a variety of legal services to the administration and staff of the District. The primary activities of the department are to provide legal advice and consultation regarding legal issues impacting all levels of District operations. In particular, the Office of Legal Resources offers the following services:

• Provides responses to questions about application of District policies and procedures
• Provides assistance with interpretation, review, development, modification and editing of school board policies
• Conducts investigations regarding legal issues impacting the school district
• Researches and provides legal opinions to senior administrative staff regarding legal matters in all areas of district operations
• Provides legal counsel and specific advise to administration and staff in matters of special education
• Provides training to district administration and staff at all levels concerning applications of school law and school board policies
• Coordinates district legal services with outside legal counsel
• Provides direct legal service in responding to all agency complaints, employment disputes and student discipline matters
• Responds to Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) requests
