Cybersecurity

Cybersecurity Club teaches students about the basics of cybersecurity, including how to secure systems and defend against cyber attacks. During first semester, we participate in CyberPatriot, a national cybersecurity competition focused on defensive security in Windows, Linux, and Cisco systems. During second semester we will study hacking, cryptography, and participate in offensive security competitions. We will also have several guest speakers. DECA is an association of Marketing students. Membership in DECA is limited to students in Marketing (junior level students) and Marketing II (senior level students) classes at Cherry Creek High School . DECA is an extremely active club that develops business leadership skills through competitive events held at the local, district, state and national levels. Students study various business and marketing topics including sales, promotion, economics, international marketing and entrepreneurship. Marketing and DECA students have several opportunities throughout the year to participate in charitable community and social activities. Senior level DECA students also run and operate the school's bookstore called Bear Necessities.

E-Sports is a club that offers students the opportunity to compete in video gaming and build connections with other gamers. Students play a wide variety of games at home, and compete in League of Legends Rocket League, Overwatch, and SSBU at school against teams from all over the state. We meet once a week during busy times (registration for tournament season) and bi-weekly during slower times, and we use Discord as our primary method of communication.

Latin Club is open to all students, whether or not you are currently enrolled in the CCHS Latin program. We celebrate the Latin language and ancient Roman cultures, explore topics of interest to students beyond the classroom curriculum, and strengthen relationships through shared experiences. Highlights of a typical year include the state Latin convention in Estes Park, Roman cooking day, Colorado Classics Day at CU Boulder, and attending cultural events like plays and museum exhibits related to Latin, whenever we find them.

Playstrong is a student run club in which kids fundraise through 5k run/walks to donate funds to pediatric cancer research at Anschutz medical center right here in Colorado. So far, we have donated more than $300,000 to cancer research.

Science Bowl

Science bowl is very similar to Brain bowl. Two teams compete in a science/math trivia-type competition. Students enjoy science bowl club for the challenge; the questions are difficult, and some have to be answered within 5 seconds. Last year, Cherry Creek Science Bowl students were the Colorado champions, winning the virtual competition which gave them an opportunity for the national level competition.

Sciences Leadership Club is for students interested in pursuing a career in STEM. Teams of CCHS students compete in 23 events at a Regional and State Competition each Spring. Each student works with a partner throughout the Fall and Winter to prepare for 3-4 events. Events range from knowledge in particular STEM subjects (ex. Forensics, Disease Detectives) to lab based events (ex. Chemistry Lab) to build events (ex. building a balsa wood airplane).
