    Grandview High School is committed to providing a varied and engaging student activities program.  In addition, students have multiple opportunities to exercise leadership in both formal and informal venues.  We have over 40 clubs and many co-curricular activities.  Our activities program is made possible by a group of dedicated faculty and staff who put in long hours and share an amazing variety of talents with our students.

     

    Starting a Club

    New clubs may be started if a group of (at least 10) students have an interest and an adult sponsor is willing to supervise.  Individual competitive sports are not considered clubs.  The student leader of the organization needs to come to the Activities Office to pick up a New Club Formation Process Packet.

    Wolf Pride Band

    CHSAA Regulated. The band is open to any student with previous band experience.  Rehearsals are after school on a weekly basis during fall and winter sports.  The Wolf Pride Band will play for three local parades, many home football, volleyball, basketball games, and school pep assemblies.  Additional performance opportunities at some area college and university sporting events may also be scheduled along with regional band competitions.

    The Grandview Chess Club welcomes all students at Grandview, and any student who wishes to play and learn chess is encouraged to participate.     Chinese Honor Society

    National Chinese Honor Society at Grandview is open to students in level 3 or above who have achieved academic excellence in Chinese by maintaining a 3.5 average GPA in Chinese and a cumulative 3.0 GPA overall, and who intend to continue study of Chinese in the future. Students must also exhibit evidence of good citizenship and intention to continue their study of Chinese. The society will provide a variety of social and community service opportunities for students to participate in, and will connect students with resources in the community through which to deepen their knowledge and understanding of Chinese culture, and to further their study of the Chinese language.

    Cyber Patriot

    This is a competition club where our teams of 5-6 individuals compete against teams from schools across the country in cyber security related events. Basically we run visualization software with Windows and Linux images that have been compromised in some way so that they are not secure. The competitors identify and fix all security flaws that they find to earn points.

    DECA (Marketing)

    Students enrolled in Marketing I or Marketing II are strongly encouraged to participate in DECA. Through active participation in DECA, members learn how to lead and participate in group discussions, preside at meetings and conferences, work effectively within committees, and engage in practical problem solving and decision making. Through participation in local, district, state, and national activities, DECA members develop a better understanding of the business world, become conscious of their civic obligations, and develop social poise and leadership ability. The DECA program of work includes activities related to class work, participation in community projects, district and state meetings and competitive events. Grandview DECA students apply their business skills by selling food, drinks, and school supplies in the school store in the commons. DECA members may compete in conferences during the fall and spring and are eligible for scholarship opportunities.  Highly involved members may earn a letter in DECA.     The Korean Culture Club provides students an opportunity to experience the Korean culture. This club offers students a variety of activities such as learning the Korean language, immersive dance lessons, and Korean cuisine.     Math Club

    The math club is open to any interested student.  Competitions occur throughout the school year and meetings will occur once a month, typically the third Tuesday of each month. The purpose of the math club is to stimulate an interest in mathematics, provide public recognition for superior mathematical achievement and provide mathematical activities and competitions.     This club offers high school students an opportunity to learn about the various and diverse careers available in the medical field. Students can network with other students interested in health-related fields.     Mock Trial

    The High School Mock Trail Program is a positive academic program that gives students an opportunity to expand their speaking, writing, reading, and analytical skills while learning about the judicial system. The students play the role of attorneys and witnesses in a fictitious case. To play these roles, students are introduced to a number of life skills that will be helpful to them in their future, such as team work and collaboration; the importance and value of setting goals; the value of strategic planning and implementation; productive argumentative and persuasive skills; critical thinking skills; and the ability to face challenging obstacles with enthusiasm, professionalism and confidence.

  • Mountain Bike Racing Team (Club)

    Mountain Bike Racing Team (Club)

    The Mountain Bike Team is a cross country racing team that competes just like other sports in the fall season. We race in 4 conference races throughout the fall, and through those events a racer can qualify for a 5th event which is the State Championships. All of the race venues are in mountain locations.  They have been in Frisco, Leadville, Granby Ranch, Nathrop, and Eagle. We practice throughout the fall during our season, and we do a few things in the spring and summer as well.  If interested, please look for advertising in the spring for next fall.  All information about the team and calendar is located on Eaglecrest High Schools website at Eaglecrest Adventure Program.

    National Honor Society

    Juniors and Seniors who have been selected to become members during the spring selection process meet in the Lecture Center on the first Tuesday of every month, unless otherwise specified.     Grandview is a No Place for Hate partner school as recognized by the Denver Chapter of the Anti-Defamation League. As a school partner, we believe that a positive school culture and climate makes a difference in the lives of students, families, educators and communities. Students in our organization develop projects, create critical mass of students & staff to bring a message of inclusion and respect to the whole school to create a culture that is welcoming and safe for all.     Polynesian Club focuses on activities relating to the many islands of Polynesia. We represent the different islands of Polynesia by demonstrating our learning of the dances and culture. We help our community as well as our school. Experience or knowledge of the Polynesian islands is not required. This group includes students of various ages, and you do not need to be of Polynesian descent to join this club.

    Speech & Debate

    Students prepare for competition in debate, public speaking, and oral interpretation with assistance from coaches and team veterans. Tournaments are held on Saturdays from October to early April.     String Quartet Club

    This is an after school opportunity for string students to rehearse in small chamber groups (quartets, duets, trios). Groups rehearse independently with occasional coaching help. Ensembles who consistently have good attendance have performance opportunities at concerts, festivals, retirement centers, coffee shops, and sometimes even weddings or possibly other outside (paid) gigues.

    Thespians are an honor organization of drama students.  Students have to earn a number of points to become eligible in the international organization, however, ALL students are invited to join for meetings and activities.     In this class, students plan, create and produce the Grandview yearbook, The View. They are responsible for all aspects of production and design. They learn to conduct interviews, cover and photograph school and related events, write and edit copy, layout pages and meet deadlines.
