Mr. Kevin Watanabe

Greetings Red Hawk Ridge Community, 

My name is Kevin Watanabe, I am honored to serve as principal at Red Hawk Ridge Elementary. I believe excellence requires promoting learning that allows students to solve and consider real-world problems and solutions. With over sixteen years of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where every student can thrive. I believe in the power of strong relationships, both within the school and with the broader community. By working together, we can create a nurturing atmosphere where everyone feels valued and respected. 

At Red Hawk Ridge, all students will SOAR by exhibiting Safety, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect. These values establish a positive learning culture for all students to succeed academically, socially, and emotionally. Red Hawk Ridge’s supportive community of educators, parents, and families makes it a positive and inclusive place for students to learn, grow, and thrive as learners and people. Our staff strives to create and maintain strong community partnerships that prioritize students’ best interests. 

A little about me, I was born and raised in Colorado. When I am not at school, I enjoy spending time with wife and two children playing and coaching sports, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors. I am an avid golfer and strong supporter of the local sports teams namely the Broncos, Rockies, Avalanche, and Nuggets! You may also find me using my smoker to cook up some delicious meals on the weekends!
