Dry Creek’s Library is designed to make reading a joy!
Students are invited to select books weekly from our nearly 15,000 volumes. Books and materials are due two weeks after check-out, though no overdue fines are ever levied. If books are lost, please ask the librarian for the price. We are pleased to participate in the Cherry Creek School District’s electronic book program as well. Five e-books can be downloaded at a time for a duration of three weeks.
Start your child on a lifelong library habit by encouraging enthusiastic and responsible library usage!

Dove Creek (1 book per week)
Students visit the library once a week for a book read-aloud. Afterwards, they can check out one book.
Fox Creek (2 books per week – 1 student choice, 1 Accelerated Reader)
Students visit the library once a week for book check-out. Additionally, Fox Creek participates in Accelerated Reader weekly. Students select one book from a special reading level collection (level is designated by the homeroom teacher). The level is easier than the instructional level, so children learn to read with more fluency. The student reads the book, and then takes a computerized quiz on the book. They accumulate points based on the difficulty and length of each book. These points can then be redeemed at the Prize Store, which is supported by the PTCO and manned by parent volunteers. This program is very effective in improving comprehension skills and vocabulary. Note: Above program does not include additional instruction provided by the Teacher’s Assistant which is conducted in the library.
Bear Creek (3 books per week – 1 student choice, 2 Accelerated Reader)
Students visit the library once a week for book check-out. Similar to Fox Creek, Bear Creek also participates in Accelerated Reader weekly, though students select twp books from the special reading level collection. They also can redeem their points at the Prize Store.
Beaver Creek (3 books per week)
Students visit the library once a week for book check-out. At this point, students can “shop the shelves” for any three books that are of interest, though the books are generally approved by the
homeroom teacher. Beaver Creek students also participate in the Accelerated Reader program and take tests to gain points, but they are not limited to a specific set of books. Nearly every fiction book in the library qualifies for the program, and many non-fiction books as well. Students also can redeem points at the Prize Store.
Elk Creek and Wolf Creek (5 books per week)
Similar to Beaver Creek, students visit the library once a week for check-out, and also participate in the Accelerated Reader program. They also can redeem points at the Prize Store.
The number of books Students may check out may increase over the course of the year based on participation and reading level.
