NHS Application Information
The purpose of National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, and to develop character in high school students. Membership is based on four criteria, each weighted equally: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.
Any Sophomore or Junior with a weighted GPA of 3.75 or higher is eligible to apply for Grandview’s chapter of National Honor Society.
For any students who would like to be evaluated for National Honor Society membership, they must first attend one of four informational meetings:
Monday, February 3rd – 7:40 a.m. OR 3:35 p.m. in Lecture Center
Tuesday, February 4th – 7:40 a.m. OR 3:35 p.m. in Lecture Center
At the meeting, the sponsors will review the selection process and provide information about how to access and complete the candidate information form and confidential reference forms. Students will complete the Candidate Form via Google Forms and attach their completed essay by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020. Incomplete or late forms will not be considered.

Deadline to apply is March 6, 2020 - Students must first attend an informational meeting.

The criteria for membership selection will be the accumulated points in the four areas (scholarship, service, leadership and character), and a majority vote of the faculty council, which consists of at least five faculty members. Candidates will be notified of their selection status by letter after April 5, 2019.
