• Greetings Parents and Families of Ponderosa,

What incredible change has occurred since we last had children in the building. I’m sure none of us ever imagined that we would have begun and ended our spring break in the way that we did. I am also relatively sure no one would have guessed that coming back to school would mean that we would do so virtually. Well that just happens to be where we are at this point in time. This email today is one of many you will be receiving in the upcoming weeks. As has been communicated by our Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Siegfried, the learning will continue to happen in the Cherry Creek School District. The format will be shifting to a remote learning experience for your child as we work responsibly to promote social distancing and the health of those in our community.

      Remote Learning Information:

      • Teachers are working this week to prepare to shift to a remote learning model.
        • They have been gathering resources, brushing up on remote learning lesson delivery, and thinking about what students need to be successful online.
      • Expect to receive information from your child’s teachers on Thursday.
      • Remote learning begins Monday, March 30th. Assignments will be shared by 2:00 pm.

Messages will continue to be delivered via phone, text and email. It is extremely important that your phone number and email address are current and accurate. All CCSD parents and guardians will continue to receive updates through phone and email contact.

Thank you for participating in the remote learning experience. It is important to us that your child continue to have opportunities to learn and grow academically amid the COVID-19 crisis. Through this process I’ve asked teachers to extend grace to students, families and themselves, as we are all learning to do school through this medium. I anticipate that we will encounter struggles as we proceed through this remote learning experience, but we will make the appropriate adjustments as we become more adept at delivering instruction online. I am proud of our Ponderosa teachers and the work they have done and will continue to do to make the very most of this opportunity.

Thank you for your commitment and support.
