  • Dear CCIC Community,

Welcome to the CCIC!  I hope you and your families are well, and that you had an opportunity to enjoy the summer.  We are geared up and excited to start the school year in this Blended In-Person Learning Model.

Through our successful collaboration with business, industry, and higher education, our staff will continue to bring a truly unique, work-based learning experience for students seeking a better understanding of themselves as they prepare for life after high school.  Whether students' post-high school plans include college, military, or entering the workforce right after graduation, the CCIC provides opportunities to gain valuable college credit and/or industry-recognized certifications. We are committed to excellence and providing a competitive advantage for all Cherry Creek School District graduates.

I want to reach out to provide some details for you to get ready for the start of the school year:

Phase-In Week (August 17-21): The first week of school will be a phased-in week, meaning students will attend their home high schools for a limited amount of time in the first week to get used to new routines and COVID safety practices.  The CCIC will hold a remote/virtual New Student Orientation on August 18 and August 20 during the school day.  Students will not physically attend the CCIC during the phase-in week. Specific schedules will be sent to you by your home school and from your CCIC teacher.

More Info on New Student Orientation:  Again, New Student Orientation will now be held remotely during the day on Tuesday, August 18 and Thursday, August 20. Teachers will email students with more information.

    August 18:

    • A1-A2 Students Cohort A-K: 9:00AM-9:45AM
    • A1-A2 Students Cohort L-Z: 10:00AM-10:45AM
    • A3-A4 Students Cohort A-K: 12:15PM-1:00PM
    • A3-A4 Students Cohort L-Z: 1:15PM-2:00PM

    August 20:

    • B1-B2 Students Cohort A-K: 9:00AM-9:45AM
    • B1-B2 Students Cohort L-Z: 10:00AM-10:45AM
    • B3-B4 Students Cohort A-K: 12:15PM-1:00PM
    • B3-B4 Students Cohort L-Z: 1:15PM-2:00PM

Back-To-School Night (BTSN): BTSN is now scheduled for the evenings of Wednesday, September 9 and Thursday, September 10 beginning at 6:00PM.  These nights will be held in a remote/virtual environment, as well.  More information will be posted on our web site, and you will also receive an email invite for those evenings.

Safety Protocols at the CCIC:  The CCIC will follow all mandates set by the Tri-County Health Department and the Cherry Creek School District.  As with all high schools in CCSD, masks will be required of all students and staff at the CCIC.  Students will also be required to enter and exit the facility through doors that are located closest to their pathway. (Student Entry Points)  All persons at the CCIC will also observe pedestrian pathways while on campus.  All learning areas have been restructured to accommodate appropriate physical distancing protocols for students and staff.  Students who drive their own cars will be able to park in parking lots closest to their entry points, except in areas designated for staff parking.  You can also find more information on COVID-19 Health and Safety Topics here.

What’s Next?:  CCSD will continue to monitor daily COVID rates. If the school district sees a sustained change in the wrong direction and it becomes unsafe to maintain In-Person learning, Dr. Siegfried, CCSD Superintendent, will make the call to switch to full Remote learning. If that does happen, I plan to send another email out to you with updates re: the CCIC.  Our staff will be prepared for any changes as they happen.

I look forward to working with you this school year.  These are unprecedented times and we have come to fully embrace the change that has come with it.  As a staff, we continue to remain focused on revolutionizing the student experience in college and career preparedness.  Thank you for your support.

    Take care,

    Mark Morgan

    CCIC Principal
