Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year!

CCSD has partnered with members of our Pasifika Community to form and build a parent committee. This committee consists of and is intended for Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander parents/guardians and staff. The committee meets monthly and focuses on the following:

• Illuminating the presence, lived experiences, accomplishments, challenges, and needs, of the Native Hawaiians and Pacific Islander communities with CCSD.
• Amplifying the voices of the Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander communities by working directly with district leaders to make changes necessary to better serve Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students and families
• Forming cross-district partnerships to strengthen the community network
• Naming the continuous problems of practice embedded in the CCSD learning experience interfering with Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students' academic and social-emotional success (i.e. problematic curriculum resources, erroneous representation and/or lack thereof, microaggressions, normalized harmful traditions/practices i.e. Hawaiian Day etc.
• Affirming and honoring Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander students' presence and cultural identities

 

Pasifika Events

Pasifika is excited to announce both in-person and virtual meetings for the 2025-2026 school year. We have so much to celebrate from our gatherings last year! Excitedly, we look forward to connecting, building, and expanding on opportunities and engagement for our students.
