District Wellness Policy

Wellness is suitable for kids and good for learning. Cherry Creek School District is committed to a wellness culture within our school, and the district's wellness policy outlines the practices encouraged within our district to help create this desired culture.

Cherry Creek Schools Wellness Policy 

To foster a healthy food environment in schools, the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has developed a federal rule known as Smart Snacks in Schools, which establishes nutrition standards for all foods sold to students on a school campus. The Smart Snacks standards apply to any foods sold in competition with the reimbursable meals provided by the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs, effective July 1, 2014. These rules will be applied along with previously established Colorado competitive food rules. The Smart Snacks nutrition standards will replace the district's a la carte nutrition guidelines in place starting in 2004-2008.
