Highly Trained Supervisors

All interns and practicum students are placed in schools with an on-site supervisor. Our training model is based on "gradual release", in which students have opportunities to observe, practice and build their skills to full independence.

Variety of Experience

Interns are exposed to school-based experiences with a variety of age groups. Psychology interns are typically placed in two different schools (one elementary, one secondary), while social work interns are encouraged to do site visits at other schools to gain experience. There is a strong training emphasis on cultural humility to work with diverse population of students and families.

Group Supervision

Interns participate in a monthly group supervision, facilitated by both a psychologist and a social worker from the leadership team. The group utilizes a reflective-supervision modality to provide safe space for professional growth.

Professional Development

Interns participate fully in training opportunities offered through the District Mental Health Team. These include workshops on topics such as trauma-informed practice and racial equity, as well as peer consultation groups.
