School Social Worker Internships
Program Overview
Cherry Creek School District is committed to supporting and advancing the field of School Social Work in the metro Denver area. One key component of this work is to provide Master’s level social work field education aligned with the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
CCSD facilitates only Master’s-level Social Work internships. Our internship program supports MSW student in their Concentration and Advanced Standing level.
Affiliation agreements: We have university partnerships with the University of Denver and Metropolitan State University.
- All MSW students completing field placement with CCSD are placed in one school building with their assigned supervisor at all times.
- The role and expectations are provided to you at your start date.
- Intern Authorization License: When interning in a public school district in Colorado, it is required that you get an Intern Authorization License through the Colorado Department of Education.
Applying for this license should be a straightforward process, and all the information you need can be found on the CDE website. You will need to pay the $90 fee out of pocket, and you will need a signature on your application from the assistant director of our mental health department. - All MSW students in CCSD must complete the application form, complete fingerprints, and be cleared to start before beginning their internship.
