Project Based Learning (PBL)
Project Based Learning and our new Discovery Center
With the opening of our new Discovery Center this past fall, our opportunities for STEM and Project Based Learning expanded exponentially. Teachers bring their students to the Discovery Center to work on long term projects, science experiments, and creating video presentations, to name just a few of the many engaging activities. A few examples this year include; kindergarteners creating their own toys out of recycled materials, second grade worked on creating a weather tracker, and fourth graders took part in “Digging Colorado,” where they worked with a real life archaeologist and conducted a mock dig. This new space inspires innovation and collaboration amongst students and staff.
