Investing in Innovation

Cherry Creek Schools has emerged as a leader in Colorado and around the country when it comes to using innovation to transform learning experiences and creating pathways to meaningful careers for students. With the voter-approved 2020 bond package, we are excited to invest in:
- $9 million to for each of our six comprehensive high schools to renovate space to create innovative environments that transform learning.
- School-based teams of staff, parents and students started meeting this month (April 2021) with the architect for the project to start having conversations about design plans.
- Technical equipment and training to prepare students for 21st century careers.
- $5 million for Cherry Creek Innovation Campus Expansion, including expanding programming options and creating new pathways for in-demand careers and expanding nursing and mental health certification programs.
Points of Pride
• Opened Cherry Creek Innovation Campus to 1,100 students in fall 2019 with seven career pathways. CCIC has been celebrated in national publications and broadcast for creating innovative career pathways for students that prepares them to take on the advanced jobs of the future.
• Constructed 53 Innovation Spaces in elementary and middle schools to transform learning. - $9 million to for each of our six comprehensive high schools to renovate space to create innovative environments that transform learning.

Three educators from the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus (CCIC) were recently recognized by the Aerospace Physiology Society for their ability to inspire students’ achievement through innovative learning: Elerie Archer, Dave Williamson and Paul Clinton.

Students benefit from CCIC resources during summer months
Students and faculty at the Cherry Creek Innovation Campus have kept busy over the summer months. More than 100 students have studied subjects ranging from aviation to computer-assisted design; they've taken part in curriculum designed to connect them with real-world, applicable skills.

Building Forward: High schools kick off planning for innovation spaces
CCSD high schools will be getting a million-dollar makeover with new innovation spaces being planned for all six high schools. Schools began to meet with the architects to discuss possibilities for how to support innovation in schools.
