Parents and Community at Our School

  • Parents are our partners at Willow Creek, and we have always enjoyed wonderful support from them. The involvement of our community is a very important factor in making our school a success. If you would like to volunteer or participate, see the information below.

    Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)

Every parent and every teacher at Willow Creek is a member of PTO. There are no dues to pay or requirements to meet — everyone is welcome! If you want the latest information about what's new with PTO, please see our website:

Volunteers are essential to our day-to-day operations. PTO sponsors over 32 different ways to donate time. In addition, teachers often request help in the classroom.

We use a software program for our communications, volunteer information, and directory. All families need to register and create a user name and password. Once you have registered, take a moment to update your email address and volunteer interests. Updating your information in this software ensures that you will receive the school newsletter, The Peek, and school-wide and classroom specific information, plus our Sunday Night email blast. This email recaps everything that is happening at Willow Creek during the upcoming week, along with other important announcements from the PTO.

PTO uses a pledging system to raise money for our school. This financial support is what enables our organization to enrich students' learning experiences and to support the paraeducators who provide invaluable services to our students.

    School Accountability Committee

By state law, every public school has an accountability committee that focuses on evaluating the effectiveness and performance of the school and seeks to improve performance. This committee includes the principal, parents, staff members, and business/community members. To learn more, see our Accountability Committee webpage

    P.A.S.S.

Willow Creek’s P.A.S.S. group strives to make sure that all voices in the community are recognized, heard, and valued. While Willow Creek may not have discrepancies in the achievement of students of color, we are a diverse community. We have at least 30 languages represented in our school. Willow Creek P.A.S.S. meeting dates are September 10th, November 12th, February 11th, and April 8th. All meetings are held in the library and are from 5:30-6:30 p.m. All parents and community members are welcome to join us and lend their voices to our efforts for all children.

    Senior Citizen Volunteers

Our school participates in the Senior Tax Offset Program. Senior citizens who are 60 years of age or older and a homeowner in the Cherry Creek School District can earn credits to offset property taxes by volunteering in our school. Additional information on this program can be accessed by calling the district at 720-554-4475.
