Art

  • High Plains Art Program

The High Plains Art Program offers a vibrant and inclusive art education for students in kindergarten through 5th grade. Our approach fosters a love for discovering, exploring, and creating art, allowing students to develop their own unique artistic voice. Through hands-on exploration of various art styles and techniques rooted in the principles of art and design, students learn about themselves and this beautiful world we all share.

    High Plains Art Show

Each spring, friends and family are invited to celebrate our students' artistic achievements at the High Plains Specials Night art show. Following the show, all artwork will be returned to students within a couple of weeks, with some pieces sent home throughout the year upon completion.

    Our Beautiful Mess

Art-making is a joyful (and sometimes messy!) process. While we use washable materials whenever possible, occasional spills and splatters are all part of creativity in action. We recommend that students avoid wearing their favorite clothes on art days to enjoy the process fully.

    Our Creative Environment

Our art room is a safe, supportive, and inspiring space where every student can grow into their most creative self. Guided by our High Plains H.E.R.O. values—Honest, Encouraging, Respectful/Responsible, and Ownership—we aim to cultivate a classroom that respects and celebrates each child's unique way of expressing themselves.
