Beaver Creek

  • Our philosophy in Beaver Creek is that all children have a right to learn and achieve to their highest potential. As a team, we help children to become the best they can be. We strive to create a collaborative learning atmosphere that brings students together to take responsibility for their own learning.

    Reading and Writing

In third grade, we use balanced literacy supported by the Lucy Calkins Reading Program, reading groups, mini-lessons involving picture books to captivate our students into achieving their individual and group reading goals. Writer's Workshop is used to incorporate the Six-Traits writing program. We work with expository, persuasive and narrative writing. To support spelling and vocabulary development, third grade incorporates Words Their Way.
