Get to Know the Campus

{IST Building}

The IST Building, or the Institute of Science and Technology, is the building between Overland and Prairie. If your schedule has room numbers that start with an "I," such as IP201, then it's located in the IST. The 100 rooms are on the first floor. The 200 rooms are on the second floor.

{Cafeteria}

The cafeteria is located on the southwest side of campus, near the soccer fields. Breakfast is sold before school, and lunch is served during 1st and 2nd lunches.

If you forget to bring your Free-and-Reduced-Lunch Meal Pass, just let one of the kitchen staff know. They can look you up by your last name.

{Library}
The Overland Library is located on the 2nd floor and is open before and after school as well as during the school day. Students may visit the library on an off period or with a pass signed by a teacher. Please keep our library nice, and leave your food and drinks outside.

2022–2023 Library hours are as follows:
- Mondays 7:45am – 3:45pm
- Tuesdays 7:45am – 4:30pm
- Wednesdays 7:45am – 4:30pm
- Thursdays 7:45am – 3:45pm
- Fridays & days before a holiday 7:45am – 3:35pm

{Meditation Room}

The Overland Meditation and Reflection Room is located in 1005B.

Overland Meditation and Reflection Room Rules
Respect that people from all backgrounds and religions are using these spaces. Electronic devices must be silenced prior to entering the rooms. Be respectful of the quiet atmosphere of the spaces and be cautious of having loud conversations. Practices vary in the use of sound and silence.
•Use the Reflection Rooms for prayers, reflection and meditation only.
•Respect that people from all backgrounds and religions are using these spaces.
•Electronic devices must be silenced prior to entering the rooms.
•Be respectful of the quiet atmosphere of the spaces and be cautious of loud conversations.
•Practices vary in the use of sound and silence. Please feel free to meet the needs of your practice while being respectful of others using these shared spaces.
•Be mindful of the cleanliness and tidiness of the rooms. Do not litter. Ensure that all clothing and prayer mats are taken with you when you leave.
•Do not take, displace or destroy any items in the rooms.
•These spaces are to remain advertising free. This includes, but is not limited to, placing or distributing flyers, posters, soliciting, etc.
•These rooms cannot be reserved; they are available as a shared space and intended to be used on a first-come, first-served basis.
•Do not eat, drink, use cell phones, study, or nap in this space; use other spaces on campus to meet those needs. Those using this space for non-meditation/prayer/reflection uses will be asked to move to another space.
{Auditorium}

The Auditorium is located near the north end of the building, next to the gyms. Assemblies, performing arts productions, and special ceremonies occur in the auditorium. Most events begin at 7:00pm, unless otherwise noted.

Out of respect for the performers and other audience members, please do not use phones or other electronics during performances.
{Gyms}
Overland has 3 gyms, located at the north end of the building:
- West Gym — this is the main gym where pep assemblies and varsity sports take place
- East Gym — this is the smaller gym
- Upper Gym — this gym is located upstairs between the West and East Gyms and is used for gymnastics and wrestling
During popular sporting events, spectators may have designated entrances/exits and seating areas.
{Post Grad}

The Post Grad Office is located on the second floor of the IST building. Post Grad can help with college and career planning for students of all grade levels, not just seniors.

Mrs. Berve or Mr. Sewell can assist you with any Post Grad questions.

{Deans' Office}
The Deans are located in Suite C, on the back side of the Activities Office.

Deans are designated by students' last names.
- A–Ln Attendance — Mr. Martinez

- Lo–Z Attendance — Ms. Myers
- Lo–Z Discipline — Mr. Henderson (coordinator)

{Security}

The Overland security specialists are posted throughout the campus to ensure staff and student safety. In addition, Student Resources Officers (SRO's) are available to assist when needed.

Please contact the Security Office for questions about student ID badges, lost & found items, and security issues.

{OHS Main Entrance}

The Overland Main Entrance is located on the east side of the building that faces Prairie Middle School. Guests must enter through the main doors and check in at the security desk for an ID badge. All other doors will remain locked.

During sporting events or performances, guests will enter on the west side of the buidling near the gyms and auditorium.
{Parking}
There are several parking lots on the Overland-Prairie campus:
- IST & Visitor Lot — located in front of the IST building, with several spots marked for visitors to the campus
- South Lot — designated for juniors and seniors with approved parking permits
- OHS Staff Lot — located on the west side of OHS for faculty & staff only, students will be ticketed
- OHS Auxilliary Lot — parking for Stride Health Clinic
- Prairie Upper Lot — located on the east side of campus near Prairie Middle School
