Traverse Academy officially opens, welcomes students

After years of planning, design, and construction, Traverse Academy, the nation’s first mental health treatment facility operated by a school district, is welcoming students in the Cherry Creek School District. Thanks to the support of local taxpayers who approved funding for the building as part of the 2020 bond measure, the facility has become a reality for students ages 10-18 who are experiencing a mental health crisis.

Students at Campus Middle School celebrated the love of reading with a carnival in the library and free copies of the book “The Cursed Carnival,” a collection of short stories presented by popular author Rick Riordan and an array of other diverse authors, who explore their own culture’s mythology.

CCSD expands mental health services through Hazel Health partnership

More mental health resources are available to students in Cherry Creek Schools, thanks to an expansion of the partnership between the school district and Hazel Health. Parents or guardians can now sign up their students for virtual, telehealth appointments at school and at home.
