  • Umetsu Wins Scholarship

    Social Studies teacher, Nathan Umetsu (pictured in the center), was honored on Thursday, April 21 as the recipient of the Suntec Concrete Scholarship. Nathan was nominated for the scholarship by one of his students, Angelmarie Madera-Peralta, and he received a check for $2000 to use in his classroom. He has graciously donated the money to share with the entire Social Studies Department.

  • BSA Gives Back to the Community

    Did you know that our BSA (Black Student Alliance) chapter is very active in the community? They have gotten involved in donation drives for the homeless and recently visited Highline Elementary as part of a mentorship program! They will also be helping run our Prom Dress Pickup event.

    Congratulations to Siem Tekle and Sabrene Mechergui for winning the Rita Hellman CCSD AVID scholarship! There were six interviews, and both of our students wowed the interview committee, earning the two available scholarships!

    Overland is proud to announce three Daniels Fund winners: Joseph Asfaw, Anastasia Markovich, and Badreddin Messaud! The Daniels Scholarship Program provides the opportunity for highly motivated students to earn a bachelor’s degree that helps them build a successful career and rewarding life.

    Overland High School’s HOSA Chapter competed at the State Leadership Conference at the Sheraton Denver from February 22–24. The top ten were recognized and received a ‘top ten’ lapel pin.
