Remote Learning Information: Dates, Devices & Free Internet

Mission Viejo Families,

We want to provide you with some important follow-up information regarding the voice messages and emails that you’ve received the last few days. As you know, all Cherry Creek Schools will be transitioning to remote learning next week.  The transition dates for elementary schools are different from middle school and high schools.

Elementary Remote Learning

  • Students will remain in person this Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, November 9th - 11th. 

  • There will be no school on Thursday, 11/12 and Friday, 11/13 to give teachers time to plan and ensure the transition to remote learning is as smooth as possible.

  • Remote learning will begin on Monday, November 16th.

    • Approximately 3 hours per day will be synchronous learning (“real time” learning usually with a teacher present) and approximately 3 hours per day will be asynchronous learning (independent learning usually without the teacher)  

      • Grades K-2 will be synchronous (real time) 8 - 11am and asynchronous (independent) 12  - 3pm.

      • Grades 3-5 will be asynchronous (independent) 8 - 11am and synchronous (real time) 12 - 3pm.

Student Devices

  • In order to ensure all students are successful during remote learning, they will need a working computer device (laptop or desktop, not a tablet or phone).

  • If you are in need of a device for your child(ren), please complete the electronic survey by clicking HERE.

    • Though it is likely, we are NOT guaranteeing to provide your family with a “loaner device”.  This is just to assess needs.  Additional information will be e-mailed to you directly, IF we are able to loan students devices during remote learning.

    • Devices will be distributed this Monday, 11/9 & Tuesday, 11/10.

Internet Assistance

  • The Cherry Creek Schools Foundation is providing free internet access (through Comcast) to families in need.

  • If your family is in need of assistance, please contact our receptionist, Sabrina Conley at 720-886-8000, or by email at

    • You will be provided with a direction letter and code that can be used through the “Comcast Essentials” Program.

Towards the end of next week, teachers will be sharing a detailed daily schedule, for their class/grade level, that students will be following.
