CCHS Student Athlete Advisory Committee prepares dozens of Thanksgiving baskets for community
The Cherry Creek High School community is continuing its tradition of generosity and selflessness for the holiday season.
For the past nine years, the school’s Student Athlete Advisory Committee has assembled baskets of food to donate to the community for the Thanksgiving holiday. These baskets have included canned goods, dry goods and other staples for a full holiday meal. The SAAC has assembled each basket by hand for families in the community.
This year was no different. Even amid the challenges of a year marked by a global pandemic, the CCHS students and their advisors continued their commitment to community. The school’s SAAC assembled 60 baskets filled with everything required for a great holiday meal. All of the money for the effort was raised through the Advisory Committee, and student athletes helped assemble and prepare the baskets.
The final products will go to Holly Hills Elementary and ultimately reach families who need support for the holidays. CCHS has partnered with Holly Hills for the past six years.
The effort is part of a broader push across the Cherry Creek School District to stay true to the values of generosity, care and community support during the most challenging times. The entire CCSD family is grateful and thankful for the work of the CCHS Student Athlete Advisory Committee, and for their commitment to making the holiday bright for all.
