Boys soccer – Grandview wins the 5A Centennial League title
The Grandview Wolves finished the regular season on top of the 5A Centennial League, with Mullen second and Cherry Creek third going into this week’s Centennial Challenge tournament running April 13-17. The Wolves wrapped up regular season play by going 2-0 last week, including a huge 3-0 win over the Mullen Mustangs, which wrapped up the league crown.
Unpredictable Colorado weather affected games last Tuesday. The Eaglecrest–Cherry Creek match and the contest between Cherokee Trail and Smoky Hill were both called after just 40 minutes because of blizzard-like conditions.
Grandview will play Cherokee Trail in the Challenge Tournament on Tuesday. The Cherry Creek Bruins took third place in the conference with a 3-1 win over Eaglecrest last Tuesday. They will host Overland in the Challenge on April 13. Second-place Mullen will host Smoky Hill and Eaglecrest will travel to Arapahoe for the rest of tournament play on Tuesday.
