CCSD Communications Services Department recognized for excellence

Building Forward websiteCCSD Communication Services teamThe Cherry Creek School District Communication Services Department was recognized for outstanding work supporting the district’s students, staff, schools and community, during the Colorado School Public Relations Association (COSPRA) 2022 Communications Excellence and Professional Awards program and spring conference, held on May 5 in Denver. Awards were presented after a rigorous competition in which entries were judged against the highest standards in the profession, using a rubric based on evidence of research, assessment, analysis, planning, evaluation and results.

CCSD Website Manager Cari Hinton received an Award of Excellence for the “Building Forward: Investing in Our Community” section of the district website www.cherrycreekschools.org. The website is a valuable source of information for parents, prospective parents, staff and prospective employees and the general public.

Jeremy Chavez, the district’s digital and social media specialist, received an Award of Excellence for the special purpose video, “Grandview student explores human history in Mission Viejo mural.” Chavez, who manages the district’s Facebook, Twitter and Instagram platforms, also received an Award of Merit for the special purpose video, “Smoky Hill student receives scholarship to pursue a career in education.”

Sports Information Specialist Dennis Dolan, who also does video projects for the district, received an Award of Excellence for the special purpose video “Bus Driver Recruitment,” as well as an Award of Merit for the special purpose video “Altitude Virtual Volunteer.”

Adam Goldstein, the district’s digital communications specialist, received and Award of Merit in writing for the story “Advanced Manufacturing teachers, students produce protective equipment for healthcare workers” and Honorable Mention in writing for “Grandview student explores human history in Mission Viejo mural.

Public Relations and Marketing Coordinator Heather Tinley received a marketing Award of Merit for the 2021-22 Getting to Know Us publication, which provides important district information in a convenient format. Tinley also received a second Award of Merit for the special purpose publication "Building Forward.”

Communications Coordinator Anna Dolan received an Award of Merit for “The Parent Connection,” the district’s community e-newsletter, which is emailed to some 80,000 subscribers twice a month.

CCSD’s Communication Services Department is dedicated to fostering awareness, understanding and support for the district's students, staff and schools.
