CCSD elementary and middle school students participate in annual Spelling BeeOn January 27, incredibly talented elementary and middle school students from across the district competed in CCSD’s annual Spelling Bee competition. Seeing students showcase their quick thinking and comprehensive knowledge was an exciting and intense day. Students and families were entirely absorbed by the exceptional competition and talent showcased by the students.

After many rounds, eighth grader Nelly Makhlin from Liberty Middle School came in first, spelling the final word, ventriloquy. After learning that she won the 2024 CCSD Spelling Bee, she was ecstatic and thankful.

“I am just thankful for my parents and teachers,” Makhlin said.

Second-place winner Audrie Landeis from Mountain Vista Elementary School was just as excited to hear her name as she received her trophy.

“Getting first place in my school’s Spelling Bee and now getting second across the district is a memorable experience for me,” Landeis said.
