National Merit Alternate Entry

IMPORTANT NOTICE REGARDING ALTERNATE ENTRY TO THE 2021 NATIONAL MERIT SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) has carefully reviewed the requirements for students who are approved to enter the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program through Alternate Entry.

In light of the unprecedented cancelation of SAT administrations in May and June of 2020, and in an effort to include as many participants as possible, NMSC will accept scores from SAT administrations from October 2019 through September 2020 for entry to the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program.

Students must submit their SAT scores as soon as they become available and Alternate Entry Forms as soon as possible. NMSC must receive SAT scores and completed Alternate Entry Forms no later than October 15, 2020.  Please refer to the information you previously received from NMSC for further instructions on how to submit this information.

NOTE: To administer the 2021 National Merit Scholarship Program, NMSC cannot accept Alternate Entry Forms or SAT scores later than October 15, 2020.  Therefore, NMSC will not make additional changes to these requirements in the event the August 2020 and/or September 2020 administration of the SAT is cancelled or rescheduled.
